This is a non-issue for most people, but effective immediately all movies will be recorded by default onto DVD-R media instead of DVD+R.

DVD+R is compatible with 89% of all tested DVD players, according to videohelp.com. DVD-R's compatibility is 93%.

With DVD-R, the statistical probability of a person with two DVD players being unable to play one of these discs is now less than 1%.

If you prefer DVD+R for any reason, you can still order it.
